Conveniently located at the Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club, just west of Ontario Place, the TSCC Outrigger group has existed for over 10 years and regularly participates in races in Canada and the United States. Our members have excelled in many paddling events including the prestigious Liberty World Challenge, the World Masters Games, the Yukon River Quest, Queen Lil’uokalani(Hawaii), and the Texas Water Safari. Our group also hosts the Toronto Harbour International Outrigger Challenge, a 23+ km race around Toronto Island which is the largest outrigger canoe race in eastern Canada.

New entry level participants are welcome.

We are a dedicated group of paddlers with a focus on developing efficient techniques and strategies for endurance paddling. With experienced coaches and paddlers, we have translated this approach into a winning record in various types of outrigger canoes. Our paddlers usually placed in the top three in the 6-person outrigger canoe races we enter.

This sport represents an excellent source of exercise and aerobic conditioning for participants of all ages. It’s synergies are compatible with many other forms of canoeing, kayaking, and non-water sports such as Nordic skiing. Please come out and experience this rapidly growing sport.
